Shape: Directional

A directional snowboard is purposefully shaped for optimal performance in one primary direction, typically with a longer and more pointed nose compared to the tail. This design enhances stability, control, and float in varied conditions, making it particularly well-suited for carving, powder riding, and all-mountain exploration. The asymmetry aids natural turn initiation and provides a more dynamic riding experience when cruising downhill. Suited for riders who prefer a specific orientation for various terrains, a directional snowboard excels in responsiveness, offering a smooth and predictable ride that complements the nuances of specific riding styles and conditions.

1. Sintered

YES Snowboards' sintered bases are crafted by fusing tiny polyethylene particles under heat and pressure, creating a porous, durable surface. Known for superior speed and wax absorption, these bases are favored by advanced riders for their high-performance capabilities in various snow conditions.

2. Poplar/Paulownia/Bamboo

YES Snowboards'Poplar/Paulownia/Bamboo core features Poplar, Paulownia and Bamboo rails. Poplar provides lightweight characteristics and consistent flex, enhancing maneuverability. Paulownia, even lighter, maintains strength with a favorable strength-to-weight ratio. Bamboo adds durability and responsiveness. This blend ensures optimal weight reduction, responsiveness, and performance, making YES Snowboards perfect for various styles and conditions.

3. TRIAX

Triaxial or "Triax" fiberglass on a snowboard refers to a fiberglass construction where the fibers run in three directions—usually along the length and width of the board and at an angle. This configuration adds torsional stiffness to the board, enhancing its overall stability and responsiveness. Snowboards with triaxial fiberglass tend to have a more precise and controlled feel, making them suitable for riders who prioritize stability at higher speeds, improved edge hold, and better performance in challenging conditions. Triax fiber is often found in snowboards designed for advanced and aggressive riding styles.

Flex

8/10
soft stiff

Perfectly symmetrical shape for balanced riding, equally versatile both when used regular and when used in switch. Great balance between feline stability and freestyle mobility, no matter which way you point it.

FOREVER FLEX

Forever Flex is a manufacturing process that helps stabilize the flex and rocker profile of a board for its lifetime. Our boards now finish the first stages of production slightly overbuilt and then we “break them in” using a specialized machinery that mimics extreme riding use. By flexing the fresh board fibers and epoxy at the factory the materials settle into their final arrangement within the board layup much the same as if you rode the board for 20 days. This process helps us narrow our production tolerances so the board you buy has a more accurate specified flex and rocker profile that will change less as you ride it more.

Best of both worlds

This board is stable on the steeps + flying through groomers and playful when you want it to be when cruising around the mountain. Nice and springy when making quick jump turns around moguls. The edge hold grip on an icy face is reliable. The base glides nicely. The pop is phenomenal and this boards stomps landings with ease. Been riding the PYL in mostly spring conditions so far but I can't wait to get her on powder next season.

This board is so fun I can barely begin to describe to paint the picture. This is my first Yes. snowboard and you can bet everything you own it will not be my last. Been mostly riding Mammoth and this board definitely owns the tight chutes on the double blacks. I have the 162 at 6'1" and thought it might be too long, but as soon as I started riding this board it was a match made of true love. For the price point, this is the best freeride board you will find.

Unbelievable

Short: If you’re thinking about buying this board.. do it! Don’t wait just do it!

I rode this board for the first time today. We had about 8” of new Utah powder. I can honestly say, this board gave me the best day of riding in my 20+ years of it. It handled everything I threw at it and it handled everything exceptionally well! This board floated so much better than I imagined it would. It is light and maneuverable while still feeling very planted at high speeds. Towards the end of the day, there was plenty of chopped up areas and this board just blasted through it all. The base from the factory is FAST! This truly is a do it all board. I ride 100+ days per year and intend on making this my new daily driver.

The only complaint I have, is that my face is going to hurt tomorrow from the smile it left on me all day.

For note I’m 5’10 and about 175. I purchased the 157

Outstanding All Mountain

If you are considering adding this all-mountain board to your quiver, the short story is pull the trigger. You will not be disappointed. I have been riding for over thirty years and I have ridden and owned most brands. I have also come to realize that there isn't one perfect board because conditions vary over the season so much. However, YES has figured out how to combine the most critical features that when you are not on one of their boards, you are wondering if your day would be that much better if you were! I added the PYL Uninc DCP this year and after two very different days, I really can't imagine there is a better board in this category. Most of the better boards in this category can handle steeps, powder, trees, etc. but what sets this board apart is the confidence you have when things aren't perfect. First, the edge told on harder snow or ice is outstanding. Second, the dampness on chunder and tracked out snow is the best I have ever experienced without comprising any turning ability. Finally, the fun factor is off the charts. There are no bad days on this board!!

Big mountain pow slayer

Going big mountain backcountry? AK, Revy etc… THIS is the board! Even in low angle this floats better than it has any business doing. I have other boards that are my favorite for sentimental reasons but this is the best performing board I’ve ever ridden in 37 years.
