DCP

WHO IS DCP?

David Carrier-Porcheron. Nobody calls him that. Quebec kid who moved west, landed in Whistler and started hitting things that made the filmers nervous. Fourteen years on one of the biggest teams in snowboarding, a decade of parts with Kingpin, Mack Dawg and Absinthe, and one cliff big enough that it ended up with his name on it.

YES going independent again feels like breathing again.

THEY NAMED A CLIFF AFTER HIM

2003. Filming for Kingpin's Back In Black, DCP went looking for the biggest cliff anyone had hit and found it. He rode away from it. Two decades later people still call it the DCP Cliff, which is a strange kind of immortality, your legacy is a drop that other riders stand on top of and think better of.

 NOT SUBTLE

When DCP turned up in Whistler the local scene got a shock. The riding was explosive, aggressive and completely uninterested in looking relaxed about it. Whitey McConnaughey saw it, put him in Kingpin films, and every other video company followed. Twenty years of footage later, nobody has ever accused him of coasting.

 THE PART THAT ISN'T SNOWBOARDING

DCP is married to Megan Pischke, a former pro rider and a breast cancer survivor. The two of them have spent years working with Boarding for Breast Cancer, which is what happens when you decide the platform is for something other than yourself. He stays on as a YES ambassador in the independent chapter, and he's still the first to tell us when a board feels wrong.
